Is a Home Pre-inspection Legal?

Pre-inspection is a method for a home inspector to market their own business. The home inspector offers to inspect the home and provide an inspection report to the seller, which the seller will pay for after the sale of the house.

Several people believe that pre-inspection can lead to an inaccurate home inspection. What do you think? Do you agree?

The first purpose of the home inspection is to help buyers get to know the house and any issues. This will help buyers in making a decision. The inspector will reveal any technical or deficiency issues. When the inspector provides a pre-inspection to the seller, he or she cannot report on the reality of the house. Therefore, it is not possible to help the buyer of the house. Pre-inspection causes problems for the real estate market.

The rule says that home inspection can start after the contract is signed and home inspection fee payment. When the home inspector does pre-inspection before contract and payment, it means illegal action has occurred. So it is not allowed for the home inspector to do a pre-inspection. If the seller pays and signs the contract, the inspector considers the inspection to be of benefit to the seller and not the buyer.

In conclusion, I believe that officials should stop illegal action and illegal business of home inspectors who do not obey the rules. Otherwise, the technical service of home inspection will go in the wrong way because of the wrong competitive marketing.
